The Crisalidas series emerged in 1998 as the result of a long reflection on the symbiosis between the beauty of nature and human beings. It was not a static idea in time, but it was taking shape through the years, until it became the various beings that inhabit it. It could be said that he is for me like a beloved son who reaches maturity.
The first public exhibition entitled «Crisalidas» was held in the ancient and glamorous Hotel Sevilla in Havana in 2004.
“Crisalidas” is not only a brand, but also a moving concept that grows through my avatar as a creator.

La serie Crisálidas surgió en 1998 fruto de una larga reflexión acerca de la simbiosis entre la belleza de la naturaleza y los seres humanos. No fue una idea estática en el tiempo, sino que fue tomando forma a través de los años, hasta transformarse en los variados seres que la habitan. Podría decirse que es para mi como un hijo amado que llega a su madurez.
La primera exposición publica titulada “Crisálidas” se llevo a cabo en el antiguo y glamoroso Hotel Sevilla de la Habana en el 2004.
“Crisálidas” no es solo una marca, sino que es también un concepto en movimiento que crece a través de mi avatar como creadora.

Las Crisálidas salidas del pincel y la mano de una gran artista y aún más mi amiga del alma Carmen. Estos cuadros forman parte de mi vida y de mi estancia en Cuba. Solo con mirarlos siento esa fuerza que me hace renacer me da fuerza recordando la frase que sentía cada día en La Habana. Siempre en la Lucha. Ahora se encuentran en España dándome felicidad. «Twenty years ago, walking one of my daughters back from school, I had my first acquaintance with one of Carmen Mir’s Crisalidas. It was looking at me through the glass of an exhibition in one of the main avenues in Havana. It was love at first sight. Captivated by its exuberant and rare beauty, I entered the hall, even when I was exhausted by the tropical heat of Havana. I completely forgot that I was going HOME! There I met the other Crisalidas. I ended up being introduced to their fantastic creator, one of the most special and sensitive Cuban artists of modern times. The rest of the story could be the subject of a book. Time passed, I settled in the U.S.A. and I’m proud to share my life and my family’s with a Crisalida!»
